About this workshop
We're excited to bring you a whole new side of the Plant Academy. As you'll have seen we are passionate about connecting with chefs, entrepreneurs and visionaries from across the globe to inspire passion through plants.
We have a Fantastic Lineup of Chefs for for you, so each week you will find a different class here. Starting off We honoured to be working with Jamie Raftery, the Holistic Chef.
Amidst the uncertainty of this time we are aiming to use our platform to have a positive impact so the proceeds from these classes will go toward supporting Made in Hackney. Made in Hackney is a charity feeding those in need in London right Now.
About Jamie Raftery
Hailing from the West of Ireland, Jamie has 20 years of international culinary experience under his belt and he is still just getting warmed up!
After 4 years as Executive Chef in luxury country hotels in UK Jamie branched out on his own as The Holistic Chef in 2015 and moved on from the Michelin star realm to continue developing his craft, following his dreams and learning more about the nutritional, ethical and environmental aspects of food.
As The Holistic Chef, Jamie became the ‘go to’ chef for health-centred cuisine in the UK, going on to cook and teach at cookery schools, pop-up dining events, grassroots community projects, wellness festivals, health retreats and private dinners for celebrities.
In 2018 Jamie relocated to Phuket, Thailand to take on an exciting new role as Director of Culinary Development at Thanyapura, Asia’s premiere sports and health resort.
Jamie’s holistic cuisine and core values are rooted in Ayurvedic principles, seeing food as medicine; while living more in tune with nature, our environment, the changing seasons and regular exercise we can achieve a happy and balanced lifestyle.
